Did Prince Harry Have a Hair Transplant?
Verification Status: Unconfirmed
Prince Harry is rumored to have had a hair transplant but it has not been confirmed.
Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, is a member of the British Royal Family and the younger son of King Charles III and the late Princess Diana. Following his departure from royal duties in 2020, he has focused on mental health advocacy through his role with BetterUp, a mental health company where he serves as Chief Impact Officer. Hair restoration experts began speculating about a possible hair transplant following Prince Harry's virtual appearance at a BetterUp summit in February 2022, where his dramatically different hairstyle sparked widespread discussion. Spencer Stevenson, founder of spexhair.com and host of The Bald Truth podcast, noted that Harry's hair appeared "matted and fuzzy, in a way that doesn't look entirely natural." Industry observers suggest the texture and appearance were "similar to men who have recently had a hair transplant procedure, where the hair is first shaved off and then grows in." Stevenson specifically identified this as a stage that occurs before transplanted hair fully matures, predicting Harry would "look very different" within six to eight months as the grafts developed. The speculation gained traction given the Duke's family history of male pattern baldness, as his brother Prince William began experiencing significant hair loss in his mid-twenties. Harry himself previously made public references to his brother's hair loss during a 2010 royal visit to Barbados, joking about William being "given more hair" in a portrait they received. Hair restoration experts have not definitively identified the specific technique or graft count, though the short, cropped appearance during his 2022 appearance aligned with typical post-procedure styling recommendations. Alternative theories suggested by stylists include strategic cutting techniques to add volume to thinning hair, though the dramatic change from his previously fuller locks continues to fuel transplant speculation among industry professionals.
